Whether it is cubed, block or crushed, we need ice to cool and provide essential dilution to drinks. However, it is very important to be able to master and control the amount of dilution and the temperature in the cocktail. This is when the choice of the type of ice takes on its full importance.

Contrary to popular belief, the more ice there is in the glass, the less dilution there will be. For example, if you make a cocktail by putting three ice cubes in it, in 5 minutes all the ice will have melted and you will quickly obtain a glass at a lukewarm temperature with ice cubes that will have released all their water. On the other hand, if you fill your glass with ice, it will stay cool throughout the tasting of your cocktail and the ice will have melted only slightly. The same goes for using your shaker or mixing glass, always try to fill your containers with as much ice as possible.
