Here is the recipe I made for the Diageo World Class Canada 2017 competition qualifiers. This cocktail is a derivative of 2 classic cocktails – Tommy's Margarita and Paloma – to which I chose to incorporate a few celery leaves to bring a touch of originality and surprise to this beautiful balance.
INGREDIENTS — Shake and serve in a cocktail glass. —
1.5 oz (40 ml) White Tequila
0.75 oz (20ml) lime juice
0.5 oz (15 ml) grapefruit juice
0.5 oz (15 ml) agave syrup
3 celery leaves.
Decoration: Grapefruit zest
— METHOD OF PREPARATION —
Pour all ingredients into a shaker
Add ice to 3/4
Stir
Double strain into a cocktail glass using an ice strainer and a pulp strainer
Finish by adding a grapefruit zest to your glass as decoration.
